PROJECTS
This area hosts projects I've worked on during my stay at IU South Bend, from 2020 to 2024. These give an idea of my writing style and areas of interest.
Short Video, Spring 2021 | Intro Production Techniques
A humorous parody of infomercials. My goal was to show what infomercials might look like if they were straightforward about their products' side effects
Film Blog, Fall 2023 | Writing For The Web
A short blog I wrote to discuss the philosophical ideas expressed in film.
Short Video, Fall 2021 | Video Art
This assignment was a simple one-minute video that could be looped continuously. I took great pleasure in this work; though there's no particular meaning to any of its images, just aesthetic interest.
Short Video, Spring 2021 | Intro Production Techniques
A humorous parody of infomercials. My goal was to show what infomercials might look like if they were straightforward about their products' side effects
Short Video, Fall 2021 | Video Art
Just a mildly humorous examination of optical illusions in videography and how we suspend our disbelief for them.
Audio Only Non-Narrative, Fall 2021 | Video Art
A short audio experience I made to simulate what one of the most multifaceted cities in the U.S. sounds like.
Audio Interview, Fall 2021 | Video Art
It so happens that my grandfather on my father's side knew Philo Farnsworth, the inventor of the cathode ray television screen. This interview was an opportunity for me to learn a little more about my grandfather and someone whose discoveries contributed significantly to my field of interest.
Audio Non-Narrative, Spring 2022 | Video Art
An audio work I made briefly discussing the history of appropriation in art. Of interest to me was how appropriation is done in ways outside financial or artistic intent - in this case, enjoying things.
Short Video, Spring 2022 | Video Art
A video project I made about the different ways one person can react to emotional pain: Manic ignorance, or depressive wallowing.
Short Video, Spring 2023 | Video Art
This video is about the nervousness one feels before an introduction - specifically introduction in an uncomfortable situation such as the dentist's office. While I can't relate to dental anxiety, (having a hygienist for a mother) the idea's visual potential was too good to pass up on.
Short Video, Fall 2020 | Video Art
A simple animation made in Adobe Animate's suite. Its topic is nothing more than a jab at Microsoft's less-than-stable operating systems in the mid aughts.
